Man’s best friend, you hear it all the time. It has never rang so true to me as it did a couple weeks ago when we lost our little Sophie. She was a 5 pound Chihuahua with the heart and attitude of a Great Dane. The void in our lives was unexplainable. We have had her since adopting her, or was it us that she adopted over 19 years ago. The vet at the time estimated her age to be maybe 3 or 4 years old at that time. So when she died she had lived a long giving life of 22+ years. That would be around 103 years old in dog years! Some think it might be too soon, but we have decided to get a puppy. We had been thinking of getting one earlier as a companion for Sophie, but my husband didn’t want to break his rule that you aren’t supposed to get a pet a pet! We decided to get another Chihuahua because we love their spunk and unmatched character. I went with a breeder in Kentucky and my puppy will be flying in on Monday. I will pick her up at the Billings airport and bring her home, she has some very large “shoes” to fill, and will be a very spoiled little part of our lives. Oh………I don’t have a name for her yet, Robert thought of Lily, and I thought of Tater ; ) so post your suggestions I’d love to hear them!
