Patriotism is still alive and well in the USA! While we don’t usually go around waving flags, I think most of us are proud of our country and to be an American. The 4th of July parades and fireworks displays are at the heart of Americana.
Most of us cite watching parades and fireworks as a very important part of our childhood. It’s one of the highlights of summer. This 4th my husband & I spent camping near Cooke City and watched the fireworks from our campsite after a wonderful day of fishing in the Park (Yellowstone, of course). After nearly every explosion of color and sound I’d announce, “That’s my favorite!”
Fireworks certainly brings us back to the simpler, sweet memories and delights of childhood. May the child in each of us always live on! And may the reason for celebration always live on and be loved and respected. May we always cherish and respect our country and our freedom.
I remember climbing up in a tree when I was a kid and watching the fireworks from WAY up there.
