Great post. I read a very moving article about what each fold of the American Flag represents. If I knew how to attach it in a comment I would. ha

I agree. These generations want to gather the facts and then decide whether attending the convention, serving on the Board etc. is directly relevant to their business. Xers don't want to be told they want it to be their idea. I am here to say that these activities have had a direct impact on my financial bottom line. Better yet... they have had an indirect impact on my real estate career overall. They help keep burn out at bay. I also learned very early that it is ok to ask successful people what did and did not work for them. Most often they are flattered and more than willing to share their knowledge and experience. There is no sense in reinventing the wheel. I am also here to remind the Xers that a huge majority of our buyers are boomers too. We need to be relevant to them....and that means building "real life" relationships with them. Social networking alone will not be enough.

I like the blog and the information is pertinent to conversations I have had recently with a group of Realtors. We are having problems getting the "younger" agents to sign up for committees or to take on leadership responsibilities within the Realtor organization. This is a very interesting topic and it would be great to hear some feedback from the GenXer's and GenYer's. We need to understand as there will be a time that we will need them to fill the shoes of the leaders of today. Maybe it means doing things differently, but whatever the changes may bring we need them.

This is our chance to be heard. I'm excited that everyone in Lovell has this opportunity to share their ideas and help our wonderful community be even better. Who doesn't come has no grounds to complain and who does come will be recognized for their civic pride!

I too am looking forward to these meetings but even more so the positive result that will come from them. Can't wait to see what the different ideas for projects will be and better yet which one will be chosen.

I should have added that this information pertains to residential single family homes. I thought about that after the fact but was not about to do a retake. Please feel free to ask us your questions we are not afraid to be in the hot seat! ;-O
