Lisa and I took time last week to attend the W.A.R. convention in Casper, WY. It is the only time during the year that we are both away from the office at the same time. A great big thank you to Jyl for so efficiently and effectivley taking care of things for us. Knowing that our clients are well taken care of in our absence made it possible for Lisa and I to take advantage of the opprotunities the convention provides. For education buffs like ourselves, it would be next to impossible to stay away with nationally known educators right here in our state. We gained some new tools that we will be implementing to help us market our seller’s property more effectivley. We also took a class on a program that will get progressive lenders, REALTORs and employers working together to make home ownership possible for more people in our community.
The networking that takes place at convention is more than meets the eye. Establishing and maintaining relationships with real estate brokers from around that state is key to getting the best exposure for our clients. I love to be able to refer a client moving out of town to an agent I know and trust will do a great job. On farm/ranch and commercial listings, it is of critical importance to expose listings outside of just the local Multiple Listing Service. We as an association were honored to have many public officials in our midst at the convention. I got a chance to visit with Cynthia Lummis, candidate for U.S. House of Representitives and Auditor, Rita Meyer. Secretary of State, Max Maxfield and Treasurer, Joe Meyer also attended our banquet.
I cherish the friendships I have with people persuing the same career path. I believe that those agents who frequent the convention tend to be those who are also continually improving their servies to the public.
