Everyone Loves these two subjects …….. Cookies & Contests!

Christmas is just around the corner, and that means a lot of cooking, baking and entertaining. Homemade gifts are my favorite things to give and receive. What could be better than a gift from your kitchen? Over the next few weeks we will be featuring a cookie recipes, or maybe another holiday treat!

Now, to make things even more fun we are turning it into a contest! It’s wonderfully easy with a big reward at the end. Keeping with the Christmas tradition, the reward is a surprise for the winner. All you have to do is comment on our posts and you are automatically entered in the drawing! We can track the entries here at the office and the office elves will get to work on your surprise! Don’t worry if you live out of town, we will make sure you get your surprise through the mail. So, get ready, check back often and comment about recipes or any other post! I am going to start with an easy recipe that can be modified with any flavor cake mix, and the combinations are endless, get creative! This is easy for the kids to help out with too!

Cake Mix Cookies

1 package of cake mix (any flavor) 1 large egg 1/4 cup of oil 1/4 cup of water 1 cup of chopped nuts, raisins, oatmeal, coconut, chocolate chips, M&M’S® etc. (anything you like in cookies) Heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine cake mix, egg, oil, and water. Beat until well blended. Stir in remaining ingredient(s). Drop by teaspoon about 1 inch apart onto greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until done, let cool on the cookie sheet for approximately 3 minutes then transfer to cooling rack. Yummy!
