Go Griz!

Saturday the Montana Grizzly football team triumphed over the Appalachian State Mountaineers with a 24-17 victory to win the Subdivision semifinal.  It was a very exciting game to watch on TV.  But, I have to tell you it couldn’t have been anything like watching it in person.  I was there with the other 24,200 fans yelling and screaming.  We all have to do our part, after all, football is a team sport!

One of the more joyous experiences in life is being a part of the “North End Crazies” at the Griz Stadium and “helping” your team win.  The crowd noise is certainly a factor in every home Griz game and the crowd take their responsibility seriously, well noisely anyway!

Having lived near beautiful Boone, NC, the home of App State, I know it rarely gets as cold and windy there as it was in Missoula on Saturday.  The weather had to be a factor, but the Montana win was still a case of the best team winning!  Now, we get to return to Chattanooga, TN for the NCAA Championship game after a 14-0 overall season.  We’ve won in Chattanooga before and we’ll do it again!  Watch the Griz beat the Villanova Wildcats  at 6 PM Mt Time this Friday!

GO GRIZ!!!

About Jyl Duffy

I love being a REALTOR and Office Administrator for Johnson Home and Land. There's no place like home here in Wyoming. This is home even though I enjoyed living in Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Carolina previously. With my husband, Dave, when we're not busy working we enjoy our Christian activities and being out of doors fly fishing, camping, golfing or snow shoeing. Wyoming is the best place to be for our active outdoor lifestyle.

First let me say that I am a Pokes fan…..but I have to concur that last couple of Montana Grizz games were well worth watching. (From the comfort of my own family room) I did think of you and Dave and even looked for you when they would put the camera on those crazy screaming fans. They are not as crazy as Wyoming Cowboys fans but that’s another story. Glad you guys had fun. We Wyomingites are not afraid to put a few miles on our cars for a good ball game are we?

So, what’s the big deal of going on a 400 mile road trip to a GRIZ game? That’s a very logical thing to do! Now, if we could only get to Chattanooga by tomorrow night!

  3. You go Jyl, as for me…..I’m a wimp. I like to yell at the TV while watching it from home, instead of brave the cold weather. You are a true fan!
