The Chamber Banquet Served Up Community Pride

Saturday evening was the annual Lovell Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet.  I believe a good time as had by all who attended.  This year was a little different because there was no key note speaker.  Instead….both  Lovell and Rocky Mountain High Schools were asked to present a muti-media presentation and they both did a great job.  Kids are pretty techy these days and they crafted a summary of why their school is special to them.  Here were my personal highlights from the event…in no particular order.

  • Scott Allred being honored with Citizen of the Year.  He has served 25 years as Captain of our local Search and Rescue as well as a Town Councilman
  • All of Lovell Inc.’s awards….Trail Blazer going to Miller’s Fab and Entrepreneur of the Year going to Michelle Croft with Lovell Institute of Family Therapy.
  • The Student’s Multi-Media Presentations
  • The fact the the Rocky Mountian teach of the year, Mike Higgins, actually taught and inspired the Lovell teacher of the Year, Josh Sanders.  How cool is that?
  • The food….it was good!
  • Almost every person who had the mic in their hand for any length of time said something about how proud they are to be apart of this community.  You can just tell when those types of comments are sincere…..and I believe they were sincere. I too was very reminded of how proud I am to live, work and serve in this community.
