Things to Do Series….Big Horn Mountains

Another one of our Favorite Things To Do is… Go up on the Big Horn Mountains. It’s a short drive and you are up on top of the mountains where the temperatures are so much cooler this time of year. The wildlife is so fun to see, this trip we saw a lot of Elk, Moose & Deer. We even saw a mother duck & her babies swimming by at Sibley Lake. http://youtu.be/wMLwC1u4deA

We also saw a large herd of Elk on the side of the mountain and pulled over to watch them, the calves were running and playing. It was so fun to watch them. I have never seen this before. We usually always see elk in this area, but they are high where you have to use binoculars, these were very close to the road. We sat and watched them for a long time until it was too dark to really see them anymore. http://youtu.be/9wgkny5UyUI

But, I have to say our favorite animal to see are the moose, and they were so busy eating they didn’t care how long I sat and watched them and how many pictures I took. There was also a cow and calf laying down in the willows but they didn’t get up where I could get a picture of them, but if you watch closely you can see their ears. http://youtu.be/MjkPTicXJo0

Along with the animals the wildflowers and lakes are so pretty.
